Google Adwords
Paid search using Google AdWords, allows you to create and run ads for your business online within the search environment, quickly and simply. By running your ads on Google and their wide ranging advertising network, you can develop campaigns to fit any marketing budget. One of the advantages is that you'll only pay when people click your ad and visit your website. AdWords ads are displayed along with search results when someone searches Google using one of the keywords you have chosen. Depending upon your bid, Ads will appear under 'Sponsored links' in the side column of a search page, and may also appear in additional positions above the free search results if you bid a premium. Understanding how to effectively set up your campaigns and bids is critical to allow you to cost effectively advertise to an audience that's already interested in your business.
Bing and Yahoo Adcenters
These two search engines have recently combined for around 23% of the search market while Google controls around 72%. Since the "merger" they have returned better ROI than expected, and the combined platform is providing ROI that’s “about the same as Google now.” Because of that increase in ROI on Yahoo-Bing, cost-per-click there was essentially the same as Google by the end of 2010. Both of these paid search platforms are included in the "Essentials" Paid Search training module.
